The Balance Single Bed in solid beech wood exemplifies how elegance in design arises from the perfect harmony between the parts. Its carefully conceived frame is wider at the top, with 7 cm-wide horizontal beams that proudly display the wood grain and texture. From here, the vertical section supporting the slats extends downwards from the inside, forming a gentle L-shaped profile that blends strength with refined visual harmony.
The wide, rectangular feet taper diagonally toward the floor, giving the bed a grounded yet airy presence. Meticulous attention to every angle ensures a design that is understated, poised, and perfectly aligned with its name.
The Balance Single Bed comes with a set of rigid wooden slats included in the price. Sprung slats are also available via the accessories section. For more details on this option and other accessories, such as a headboard or futon mattress, check the "Accessories" tab further below.
This bed can also contain a Japanese tatami mat. If you prefer this option see the product Balance Single Bed with Tatami.
Internal width: customizable between 80 and 120 cm.
Internal length: customizable between 190 and 220 cm.
Bed height: customizable between 25 and 40 cm. The height is measured from the floor to the upper edge of the bed frame.
External dimensions: + 14 cm more than the internal dimension. For example, a Zen bed with internal dimensions of 80 x 200 cm will have the following external dimensions: 94 x 214 cm. With a wooden headboard the external length increases by about 3 cm. This means that a bed with a headboard and internal length of 217 cm will have an external dimension of 218 cm.
Bed frame and slats: solid finger jointed beech wood
In the product configuration options, you can choose untreated beech, for a natural and authentic look, or opt for one of our eco-friendly, water-based finishes, developed to enhance the wood grain while protecting the surface over time. Our palette, inspired by different wood species, allows the piece to integrate naturally and elegantly into a wide range of interiors. Free samples are available on request, so you can see the finishes in person.
Beyond our standard range, you may also select a custom RAL colour by providing the numerical code. In this case, we prepare a dedicated sample and send it to you for approval before proceeding with the final finish of the furniture.
For more details on our finishes, visit the wood finishes page.
You can complete the bed with a wooden headboard, bedside tables, ergonomic curved slats, a futon mattress, and dedicated bed linen, all found in the ‘Accessories’ section.
Here follows more detailed information about accessories that integrate directly with the bed frame, affecting its configuration and function.
Integrated wooden headboard: In the image gallery you will find examples of the wooden headboard for this bed and in the configuration options you can choose whether to add it.
Futon headboard As an alternative to the integrated wooden headboard, you can also choose the futon headboard from the ‘Accessories’ section. It consists of a futon cushion suspended from the wall by a wooden rod, available in the same finishes as the frame. Futon cushions come in a wide range of colours.
The bed comes with rigid solid wood slats, inserted directly into grooves along the inner perimeter of the frame.
Alternatively, you can choose curved slatted bases in the Accessories section. In this case, the internal grooves are replaced by dedicated supports for the base, and the rigid wooden slats are not included anymore in favour of the curved ones.

We recommend to pair this bed with structured futons containing latex and/or coconut fibre layers to provide uniform support on slatted bases and maintain comfort over time.
Pure cotton futons are better suited to beds with tatami mats, which offer a continuous and even foundation.
