Who is Arpel?
Arpel is a company with 25 years of experience in custom made solid beechwood furniture in japanese style. We combine a profound knowledge of the most traditional japanese production methods with continuous research and development to consistently offer the highest quality to our clients.
Quality
At Arpel, we are uncompromising when it comes to quality. We work only with trusted suppliers and accept nothing less than the finest materials. Our furniture is crafted exclusively from first-choice solid lamellar beechwood, using 2 cm thick panels with a density of 750 kg per cubic meter, a guarantee of exceptional strength and timeless elegance.
Every other material in our production follows the same rigorous standards. This includes the cotton and latex used in our mattresses and futons, the straw in our tatami mats, and the sliding door coverings made of cotton or natural Japanese rice paper, featuring premium fibers imported directly from Japan.
Ecology
At Arpel, we deeply believe that living in harmony with nature is essential to genuine well-being. A healthy, natural lifestyle goes far beyond diet and self care, it also means surrounding yourself with an eco-friendly, calming home environment. Your home should be a sanctuary from the stress of everyday life. A place to rest, restore balance, and recharge with positive energy.
We source only raw wood and personally take care of every step of the finishing process to ensure complete transparency. Each piece is treated with closed-pore, non-toxic, water-based ecological varnishes, applied in a specialized spray booth for a perfectly even coating. This process protects not only our artisans and the environment but also your health. The level of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) in our paints is virtually zero.
We specialize in metal-free beds, as research indicates that eliminating metal elements from the bedroom supports natural sleep patterns. Metal can accumulate electrical charges that may interfere with the body’s own bioelectrical balance.
For a truly eco-friendly bed in pure Japanese style, we recommend pairing your frame with one of our futon mattresses made from pure carded cotton: the essence of natural comfort and simplicity.
