The hand stitched Cotton, Double Coconut and Latex Futon is inspired by the traditional Japanese futon, but with a much richer filling, making it more comfortable and suitable for everyday use on a bed. This Futon cannot be folded in half due to the double layers of coconut.
Made from 6 layers of carded cotton, 2 layers of natural coconut fibre and soft core in latex foam, the Cotton, Double Coconut and Latex Futon offers a unique balance and provides firm support. The cotton has excellent breathability and regulates temperature during sleep. The two layers of coir ad firmness to the composition and improve air circulation for a superior night's sleep. The latex foam core and coconut layers ensure that this futon maintains its shape and height over time, even with daily use

The futon cover is offered in a variety of colors presented in the selection above. The handcrafted step-stitching and edge seams perfectly match the color of the futon cover, ensuring a seamless and aesthetically pleasing look.

Futons, being quilted mattresses, do not feature a removable cover. In the event of stains, we recommend using a suitable stain remover for spot treatment. To safeguard your futon from potential stains and dust accumulation, we suggest utilizing a removable cover available in the Accessories section.
Additionally, it is advisable to periodically flip the futon to maintain the density of its cotton layers. To ensure longevity, the futon should be occasionally rolled up and allowed to air out, facilitating the release of any absorbed moisture from the environment. We recommend doing this at least 4 times a year.
If the futon filling contains two layers of coconut fibre, it cannot be folded. In this case, we recommend turning the mattress from time to time to maintain an even density of the cotton and/or wool layers. To air the mattress, you can leave it on the bed with the window open for about an hour, then turn it over and leave it to air for another hour.
Durability of the futon

Recycled materials often lack the desired fibre quality due to wear and tear and they contains synthetic fibers. Our mattresses are exclusively crafted from high-quality virgin cotton and wool, ensuring durability and longevity. With proper care, Arpel mattresses can maintain their optimal condition for up to 10 years.
