Futon mattresses are celebrated for their remarkable versatility, seamlessly adapting to different spaces and lifestyles. In Japan, they are traditionally laid out on tatami mats at night and neatly folded away during the day, transforming the room for other activities. This same flexibility makes them equally at home on slatted frames or tatami-style beds, offering a practical and elegant sleeping solution.
The Slim Futon in Wool, Cotton, and Latex is thoughtfully crafted with multiple layers of carded cotton, a 3 cm core of natural latex, and a soft wool finish on both sides. This balanced composition creates a mattress that feels both welcoming and supportive, both ergonomic in structure and naturally cosy.
Virgin wool, a refined and breathable fibre, helps regulate body temperature throughout the year. It gently retains warmth during colder months while staying pleasantly cool in summer, ensuring a comfortable sleep in every season.
The cotton layers provide consistent, stable support without sacrificing airflow. Both the wool and cotton are carded to enhance their strength and durability, maintaining their shape and performance over time.
At the core, natural latex introduces elasticity and resilience. It allows the mattress to adapt to the body’s contours, easing pressure points while helping it retain its structure night after night.
Our Slim Futon in Wool, Cotton, and Latex combines natural materials with thoughtful design, an ideal choice for anyone seeking healthy, comfortable, and truly restorative sleep.
If you prefer an even more ergonomic mattress with 2 layers of latex, we recommend our Comfort Futon – Wool, Cotton & Latex.

When first removing the futon from its packaging, we recommend folding or rolling it in the opposite direction to how it was packed. This helps smooth out the cover and filling.
Futons, being quilted mattresses, do not feature a removable cover. In the event of stains, we recommend using a suitable stain remover for spot treatment. To safeguard your futon from potential stains and dust accumulation, we suggest utilizing a removable cover available in the Accessories section.
Additionally, it is advisable to periodically flip the futon to maintain the density of its cotton layers. To ensure longevity, the futon should be occasionally rolled up and allowed to air out, facilitating the release of any absorbed moisture from the environment. We recommend doing this at least 4 times a year.
If the futon filling contains two layers of coconut fibre, it cannot be folded. In this case, we recommend turning the mattress from time to time to maintain an even density of the cotton and/or wool layers. To air the mattress, you can leave it on the bed with the window open for about an hour, then turn it over and leave it to air for another hour.
The futon cover is available in a variety of colors, shown in the selection above. Hand-sewn seams are carefully matched to the fabric, creating a cohesive and refined look.
Natural white futons always feature white felts in the tufting points. For colored futons, you can choose between matching fabric buttons or black felt in the configuration settings.
