We offer different Japanese sliding door systems for your wardrobes, partitions and wall units. Some systems are more suitable for lighter doors and others for heavier ones. The weight of our doors depends mainly on the choice of panel.
Wood on wood, the traditional sliding system for light japanese doors
This is the most traditional Japanese system. The doors slide in simple wooden tracks carved directly into the floor and top of the wardrobe or cupboard in which they are installed. This is possible with beech wood as it is very dense and hard and does not wear over time.
For sliding door partitions and walk-in wardrobes that don't have a floor panel, we make wooden runners that are placed directly on the floor. In homes where the floor is still being laid, it's possible to recess the runners into the floor so that they are flush with the flooring.
Lighter door finishes such as plain fabric and washi paper with double-sided PVC coating are more suitable for this type of sliding system.

Sliding system from the bottom with wheels hidden in wooden rails
This is our most popular system. It's very similar to the wood-on-wood system, but the doors slide on silent, hidden wheels, which helps them move more smoothly as it eliminates all friction.
With this sliding system, the track depth is increased to make room for the wheels.

Sliding system from the top in metal runners with optional soft closing system
In this system, the doors are suspended on rollers that slide in metal tracks fixed at the top. These runners are completely concealed by wooden panels.
For sliding doors used as partitions, this system does not require a wooden track on the floor. If required, the doors can be fitted with a soft closing system.
