The Premium Futon – Wool, Cotton & Double Coir is crafted with two layers of virgin wool, a generous filling of carded cotton, and two 3 cm layers of natural coconut fiber.

This construction provides a firm and supportive feel: the coconut layers ensure a stable, structured base that promotes proper spinal alignment, while the wool adds a touch of balanced softness, gently adapting to the body’s contours. Cotton enhances overall support and further improves internal airflow.

The combination of natural materials guarantees excellent breathability and effective temperature regulation. Wool, in particular, plays a key role by retaining warmth during colder months and dispersing excess heat in warmer conditions, keeping the mattress dry and comfortable year-round.

The dual coconut layers, combined with the carding process of wool and cotton, ensure long-term stability and resistance to deformation. Carding aligns and opens the fibers, resulting in a more compact, even, and resilient filling over time.

This futon can be used on any slatted base or on tatami, a traditional Japanese rice straw mat usually used directly on the floor or within a bed frame.

If you prefer a softer and more ergonomic feel, discover our Premium Wool, Cotton, Double Latex, and Coconut Futon.

keyboard_arrow_downCare and maintenance

When first removing the futon from its packaging, we recommend folding or rolling it in the opposite direction to how it was packed. This helps smooth out the cover and filling.

Futons, being quilted mattresses, do not feature a removable cover. In the event of stains, we recommend using a suitable stain remover for spot treatment. To safeguard your futon from potential stains and dust accumulation, we suggest utilizing a removable cover available in the Accessories section.

Additionally, it is advisable to periodically flip the futon to maintain the density of its cotton layers. To ensure longevity, the futon should be occasionally rolled up and allowed to air out, facilitating the release of any absorbed moisture from the environment. We recommend doing this at least 4 times a year.

If the futon filling contains two layers of coconut fibre, it cannot be folded. In this case, we recommend turning the mattress from time to time to maintain an even density of the cotton and/or wool layers. To air the mattress, you can leave it on the bed with the window open for about an hour, then turn it over and leave it to air for another hour.

The futon cover is available in a variety of colors, shown in the selection above. Hand-sewn seams are carefully matched to the fabric, creating a cohesive and refined look.

Natural white futons always feature white felts in the tufting points. For colored futons, you can choose between matching fabric buttons or black felt in the configuration settings.
